a) How do I join the Club?
Once you have decided to join the Club, you can sign an application
form and be playing almost straight away. There is no playing in test for
Tennis, Squash, Table Tennis or Bridge but anyone wishing to join the Snooker
and Billiards Section must be played in.
b) I am new to the area and don’t know
anyone, how do I find people to play with?
All the sections run Club Nights or Hosting sessions.
The Tennis Section Club Nights are on Monday and Friday evenings 7.00pm
– 9.00pm and on Saturday afternoon in summer 2.00pm – 4.00pm in winter 1.30pm –
3.30pm.
The Squash Section Club Nights are held on Wednesday evening at 6.00pm.
c) Is there any restriction on clothing?
For Tennis any recognised tennis
clothing may be worn including Tracksuits. It
is important that proper tennis shoes are worn to protect both the player and
the courts.
For Squash comfortable clothing with non-marking shoes.
d) Is Coaching Available?
Yes, you can have coaching for all
sports, both individual and group sessions are available. Coaching is arranged
with the respective coaches and can be obtained at an extra charge.
e) How do I enter for the leagues?
Both Tennis and Squash Sections run
internal Box Leagues - just add your name
in the space provided at the bottom of the sheet on the notice board in
the clubhouse.
f) Who owns the Club?
The Club is wholely owned by the members
and is purely for the benefit and enjoyment of the members. Any surplus on the
years trading is put back into the club.
g) Can I bring in guests?
Yes, all guests must be signed into the
visitors book, sport playing guests may come four times per year paying the
appropriate visitors fee.
